For 2008 I signed for Fortec Motorsport to compete in the FR2000 Renault Eurocup. This is the most competitive series in Europe with a field of 48 cars and visiting some of the best race circuits in the world including Spa, Silverstone, Hungaroring, Nurburgring, Le Mans, Estoril and Barcelona. Whilst Fortec are the multiple British Champions this was their first year in the Eurocup Championship, so it was always going to be a steep learning curve both for the team as well as for me, but I was really confident that we could achieve great results. With such an experienced team of engineers and mechanics and Fortec’s knowledge of the FR2000 car, I felt we could progress quickly and have a successful year. This has proved to be the case and from a mediocre start to the season we are now scoring points regularly and had our first podium at Estoril in September. I am currently the top placed British driver in the series.
